Corruption claim in NZ supermarkets a sign that National's economic policies are working. It's all part of a brighter future!!!Supermarket chain Countdown has rejected accusations in parliament that it has been demanding money from local suppliers.

Australian-owned New Zealand supermarket chain Countdown has rejected accusations in parliament that it has been demanding money from local suppliers under threat of blacklisting their products.
Labour MP Shane Jones said he had been contacted by a number of firms and had been told about what he described as "the Countdown shakedown".
He said the local company representatives had been told Countdown's profits last year didn't meet shareholder expectations.
"They are demanding of Kiwi businesses payments, back-dated cheques, and recompense for the losses the supermarkets assert they suffered last year.
"And if they don't pay the cheques, they are being told: no shelf space into the future... and if you breathe one word of this, we will blacklist you permanently."
Countdown's managing director Dave Chambers reacted by issuing a statement saying he "categorically rejected" the allegations Mr Jones had made under parliamentary privilege
